WHAT IS INFRARED?

Infrared is a light wave of electromagnetic spectrum, that is invisible to the human eye. It penetrates human tissue, which in turn produces a host of anti-aging and health benefits. Infrared heat in a sauna is a type of radiant heat that utilizes infrared light to directly heat the body. Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air around you, infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit light that is absorbed by the skin, promoting relaxation and various health benefits such as detoxification, pain relief, and improved circulation.

WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM?

  • Full spectrum infrared refers to the complete range of infrared wavelengths: near, mid, and far infrared.

  • Near Infrared penetrates the skin's surface, promoting healing and revitalization through induced sweating.

  • Mid Infrared reaches deeper into soft tissues, enhancing circulation and oxygen flow to injured areas.

  • Far Infrared penetrates fat cells, promoting vasodilation, toxin elimination, and metabolism stimulation for weight loss.

WHAT IS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE?

Our state-of-the-art Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna, is an immersive experience of light, sound, and radiating heat.

It will heat you very gently and slowly, making it a very peaceful experience. You may find that you do not sweat for the first 10-15 minutes, or not very much at all your first time. With increased usage, you will likely notice an increased ability to sweat more productively.

Because you are in a private suite during your sauna session, you can choose to relax however you please during this time. Some choose to disconnect and meditate, while others listen to music. It is completely up to you!

After sweating, you will feel relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. You may notice glowing skin, diminished wrinkles, muscle and injury relief, as well as a sense of calmness.

Unlike traditional Finnish convection saunas which heat the body from the outside-in, resulting in hot, often intolerable air, our medical-grade infrared saunas heat the body from the inside-out, leaving the air pleasant and comfortable, allowing for a longer sweat.

WHAT IS CHROMOTHERAPY?

Chromotherapy is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony. Each color possesses frequencies of a specific vibration, and each vibration is related to different physical symptoms.

Our bodies need the sun’s light to live. And that light can actually be broken down into a seven color spectrum. An imbalance of any of those colors can manifest itself in physical and mental symptoms. Color therapy works on various energy points to help balance your body via the full spectrum of visible light, each color addressing a distinct need.

Color and light have been utilized by healers for thousands of years. Color therapy possibly has roots in Indian medicine (Ayurveda), ancient Egyptian culture and traditional Chinese healing.

HOW DO I PREPARE?

We recommend coming fully hydrated and even eating a little snack before your sweat session. It is important to drink plenty of water before, during and after your sweat. We have complimentary water available should you choose to bring your reusable bottle, as well as cold-pressed juices and bottled water available for purchase.

Remove all makeup and any lotions or oils before your sauna session. Clean skin ensures that you are not letting any toxins in while you are sweating toxins out. Bare skin is recommended for sauna use, as some ingredients in lotions/creams can react with the heat, causing a rash or burn. If you have recently had a spray tan or applied self-tanner, it is best to postpone your sauna session.

Inside the Sauna, wear as little (or no) clothing as possible. Loose-fitting clothing or athleisure wear is ideal to wear after your appointment. We provide all towels and even cold towels to use during your session.

IS THIS FOR EVERYONE?

You must be at least 18 years old to use the sauna. While sauna therapy is considered safe, it is not for everyone. We want you to have a safe and enjoyable sweat, so let us know about your past sauna experiences or any health conditions you may have. We are not medical professionals and always recommend checking with your physician if you are on medication or have concerns prior to booking a session. Pregnant women should not sweat. If you have hemophilia, we do not recommend sweating. If you have been advised to stay away from heat or have any concerns regarding medical conditions, please check with your physician. If you have had an abdominal surgery, tummy tuck, c-section or breast augmentation, consult a physician prior to using our saunas to ensure that it is approved for use.

If any of the below apply to you, please consult your physician prior to sauna use:

  • Current fever or infection

  • Cardiovascular conditions

  • Recently had surgery (4 months or less) or an injury

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

WHY DO I NEED TO SWEAT?

There are so many benefits from sweating that it has become a celebrity “must have" in their beauty and fitness routine. Sweating is a great way to help realize your personal fitness, wellness and beauty goals. By increasing circulation, your body benefits from a number of positive effects, such as glowing skin, pain relief, weight loss, stress relief, increased athletic performance, improved immune function, injury recovery and more.

DO YOU BURN CALORIES WHILE SWEATING?

Infrared saunas have been proven to aid in weight loss by heating your core temperature to induce sweating. Increases in blood flow and heart rate are a result, which, much like moderate exercise, has shown to help you lose weight. Saunas also help you lose weight by easing aches and pains associated with weight training, helping you get back into the gym the next day.

You can burn upwards of 1200 calories in just one 60-minute sweat session.

It is for this reason, that we only allow one sauna session per day. Depending on your goals, most eople sweat one to three times per week. It is safe to sweat every day.

CAN IT CAUSE RED SPLOTCHES ?

This deep layer heating causes blood vessels and capillaries to dilate for better circulation. This red pattern is you being able to physically see this process. It will go away on its own within a few hours.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD(REN)?

Due to liability reasons, only those who are doing the sauna can be in the room during sauna sessions. We also cannot have children left unattended in the lobby at any time for liability reasons. Please make alternative arrangements for childcare if you will be coming in to sweat.
